Brief
Organisations struggle with measuring and improving employee engagement due to outdated annual survey methods that provided delayed, static snapshots rather than actionable insights. These surveys are also rarely engaging or inspiring for the people providing responses.

Engagement measurement tools lacked real-time feedback capabilities, failed to identify engagement trends before they became retention issues, and provided limited visibility into actual team-level dynamics. HR leaders and managers needed continuous pulse data to make informed decisions about workplace culture, as well as access to training and resources to help make change.
Challenge
Working with an HR and employee wellbeing specialist, as well as end users and partners, we developed a bespoke platform for engaging employees; capturing anonymous feedback; and empowering them to make change within their organisation.

Through rapid prototyping, testing and feedback, I designed an accessible platform and defined a tone and brand identity which encourages trust and honesty.

After engaging with stakeholders and presenting findings and our proposal, I got to work prototyping the platform so that we could test it quickly and react quickly to live feedback.

The end result was a platform that made a positive impact on organisations using it to empower their teams and recruit new staff.
UX Research
Research with HR professionals and employees across various industries revealed friction points in traditional engagement measurement approaches. Through user interviews and workflow analysis, I identified the need for anonymous feedback channels, manager training resources, and benchmarking tools.

Existing tools being utilised were also deemed 'uninspiring' and did not engage employees. Surveys were often seen as a 'HR checkbox exercise' rather than being a means of affecting change within your company.

Continuous user testing informed iterative improvements to survey flows, dashboard layouts, and mobile responsiveness, resulting in significantly higher engagement rates compared to traditional survey tools.
UI Design
The platform interface emphasised simplicity, accessibility and people to encourage regular employee participation and manager adoption. I created a clean, modern dashboard design with intuitive data visualizations that made complex engagement metrics easily digestible for stakeholders at all levels.

The employee survey interface featured mobile-first design with quick-response mechanisms and progress indicators to maximise completion rates. The manager portal included drag-and-drop report builders, customisable alert systems, and action planning templates.

The marketing website utilised bold typography, compelling data visualisations, and interactive demo elements to effectively communicate platform value.
